Alpha Phi was founded at Syracuse University by ten of the newly admitted women to the university. Attending school with the handicap of implied, if not open, opposition, our Founders sought support from each other. There was a need for a social center, a place of conference, a tie, which should unite, a circle of friends who could sympathize with one another in their perplexities. On October 10 1872 these ten women initiated themselves into Alpha Phi.  Today, Alpha Phi continues to bring together women young and old from around the world, under one sisterhood. To learn more about the great legacy of Alpha Phi out our national Alpha Phi website.

Our Mission: Alpha Phi is a sisterhood of women supporting one another in lifelong achievement.
